Afrobeats superstar Tiwa Savage has opened up about why she believes her journey to success was divinely delayed.
Speaking on a recent episode of The Receipts podcast, the 44-year-old singer reflected on her career and how she feels her breakthrough came later than expected. Tiwa explained that she now views the delay as part of God’s plan to inspire women who may feel uncertain about achieving success later in life.
She shared:
“I feel like God has done this on purpose. God delayed my success for a purpose. I used to wonder why I wasn’t successful in my twenties, but I started succeeding in my thirties.”
The music icon believes this timing was meant to serve as motivation:
“It’s to bless other people. It’s to inspire that 25-year-old girl who’s scared about the future. If she opens my page and sees that I started in my thirties, she’ll think, ‘I still have time.’”
