Former Lagos governor Bola Tinubu’s 2023 ambition has been questioned by rights activist Shehu Mahdi.
The outspoken Northerner claimed that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) cannot be trusted.
Mahdi made a comment on a video of Tinubu addressing a gathering of party women leaders and members in Abuja.
“Assurance, promise, prosperity, health, and security have all arrived…”
“Banditry has come to an end,” the APC flagbearer declared.
Mahdi, a supporter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Atiku Abubakar, predicted that Tinubu’s supporters would be let down.
“If you believe BAT, you could believe anything.” Everything about him was shrouded in doubt, suspicion, and uncertainty.
“Those who believe Tinubu will be disappointed,” Mahdi tweeted on Thursday.
Recently, the Katsina-born commentator made headlines for advising Christians in the North not to vote for candidates from the South.
Mahdi claimed that voting for Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) candidate, would imply support for the Biafra secession movement.
Several organizations, including the Conference of Northern Christians and Minorities (CNCM) and the Coalition of Northern Elders for Peace and National Unity (CNEFPNU), condemned the remarks.
