Dr. Josef Onoh, a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s spokesman in the southeast, has encouraged the country’s secret police to keep a watch on the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
Onoh has directed the Department of State Security (DSS) to guarantee that Dr. Godwin Emefiele does not leave Nigeria on any study leave.
According to the APC chieftain, Emefiele has nothing to worry about, adding that Tinubu’s new administration has prioritized education, The Nation reported on Monday, May 15.
In addition, Onoh urged Emefiele and Nigerians to promote the country’s owned universities, adding that they are competent and accept the new means of payment for entrance fees, according to the Leadership article.
Onoh said:
“I’m telling the DSS that whether the study leave is true or not, it should ensure that Emefiele does not leave Nigeria.”
Senator Shehu Sani, a former politician, has predicted that the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, will not get along with President-elect Bola Tinubu’s government.
According to Sani in a tweet seen by Legit.ng, Emefiele’s life and activities will be like a ‘Zebra in the hands of Tigers’ under the new government.
Sani made the comment on his Twitter page a week after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) pronounced Tinubu the victor of the 2023 presidential election.
