President Bola Tinubu has made significant changes to his cabinet, nominating Bianca Ojukwu for a ministerial role while removing six ministers from office. Along with this, he has also submitted seven new nominees to the National Assembly to fill the vacant positions.
Tinubu has chosen Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and Nentawe Yilwatda will take over as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, replacing the suspended Betta Edu.
This reshuffle is part of Tinubu’s strategy to inject new ideas and skills into his administration as he tackles the nation’s ongoing challenges.
The six ministers who were dismissed include Prof. Tahir Mamman (Education), Uju Kennedy Ohanenye (Women Affairs), Mohammed Gwarzo (State for Housing), Jamila Ibrahim (Youth Development), Lola Ade-John (Tourism), and Betta Edu (Humanitarian Affairs).
Other new nominations include Maigari Dingyadi for Minister of Labour and Employment, Jumoke Oduwole for Minister of Industry, Idi Maiha for the newly created Ministry of Livestock Development, Yusuf Ata as Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, and Suwaiba Ahmad as Minister of State for Education.
This announcement was made by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, following a Federal Executive Council meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
