President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given his approval for the appointment of Mohammed Abba Isa as his Senior Special Assistant on Disability Affairs. In a statement released on Thursday by his spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu expressed his commitment to ensuring that all segments of society are adequately addressed under the Renewed Hope Agenda of his administration.
The President noted that Isa is a distinguished advocate for individuals with disabilities and brings over a decade of experience in both local and international advocacy related to disability issues.
The statement further revealed that the newly appointed presidential aide holds a degree in Public Administration with honors from the University of Maiduguri, and he also earned a Masters in Public Administration in 2017.
President Tinubu has tasked the new appointee with actively creating opportunities for inclusivity by incorporating the requirements and perspectives of persons with disabilities into the policies and programs of all federal government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.
Additionally, Tinubu has called on Isa to collaborate with regional authorities to establish a national consensus on policies and environmental conditions that are conducive to persons with disabilities, in partnership with the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD).
