During a meeting with a delegation of South-West Muslim faithful, led by Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, President Bola Tinubu stated that his administration’s policies and programs are aimed at creating a fairer, better, and more honest society. Tinubu emphasized that Nigeria needs to make sacrifices to progress and that the country would have collapsed if the fuel subsidy had not been removed. He further explained that the petroleum subsidy had been avoided for 40 years, but to prevent the collapse of the country, it was necessary to remove it. Tinubu commended the leaders for their prayers and support and assured them that his administration was determined to empower the youth with skills and create an enabling environment for them to prosper. Rasaki Oladejo, President of the Ummah, commended President Tinubu for his courage in removing the petroleum subsidy and for initiating necessary reforms.
