President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sent his heartfelt birthday wishes to Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Chairman and CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), praising her as a model public servant whose integrity and dedication have greatly enhanced Nigeria’s image globally.

In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President commended Dabiri-Erewa’s inspiring journey through journalism, politics, and public service. He described her as a beacon of professionalism and leadership whose career continues to motivate younger Nigerians, especially women aspiring to leadership roles.

From Broadcasting to Public Service

Tinubu highlighted Dabiri-Erewa’s early years at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), where she became a household name for her empathy and excellence in journalism. According to him, her ability to tell compelling human-interest stories laid the groundwork for her later achievements in governance and national development.

Building Bridges with the Diaspora

President Tinubu lauded Dabiri-Erewa’s visionary leadership at NIDCOM, noting that her tireless efforts have strengthened Nigeria’s relationship with its diaspora community, promoting foreign investments and cross-border collaborations.

He emphasized her commitment to providing support for Nigerians overseas ranging from repatriation assistance to reintegration programs while ensuring that diaspora talent and resources contribute to national growth in health, education, and entrepreneurship.

Describing her as “a woman of patriotism, compassion, and purpose,” Tinubu said Dabiri-Erewa’s outstanding work continues to make a lasting impact on Nigeria’s foreign relations and image.

He added that her numerous awards and recognitions are well-deserved, serving as a testament to her integrity, humanity, and steadfast belief in a stronger, more united Nigeria.
