President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sent his heartfelt birthday wishes to Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the Chairman and CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), praising her as a model public servant whose integrity and dedication have greatly enhanced Nigeria’s image globally.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President commended Dabiri-Erewa’s inspiring journey through journalism, politics, and public service. Tinubu highlighted Dabiri-Erewa’s early years at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), where she became a household name for her empathy and excellence in journalism. According to him, her ability to tell compelling human-interest stories laid the groundwork for her later achievements in governance and national development.
He further recalled her transition into politics, where she represented her constituency in the House of Representatives for three consecutive terms. During her tenure, she chaired the Committees on Media and Publicity as well as Diaspora Affairs positions through which she drove key policy reforms that deepened engagement with Nigerians abroad.

President Tinubu lauded Dabiri-Erewa’s visionary leadership at NIDCOM, noting that her tireless efforts have strengthened Nigeria’s relationship with its diaspora community, promoting foreign investments and cross-border collaborations.
