While the opposition PDP is in turmoil, the ruling APC is busy making new moves to ensure a safe landing in the upcoming general elections.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC flagbearer and his campaign team, have taken their ambition to the next level by planning another massive rally in Kaduna state.
During his visit, Tinubu stopped by the Birnin Gwari LGA, one of the councils ravaged by insurgency and banditry, to express his condolences to victims of banditry attacks.
On Tuesday, December 13, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, arrived in Kaduna State for the North-West flag-off of the party’s presidential and governorship campaign rally.
The APC presidential candidate was accompanied by Senator Kashim Shettima, the Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council and Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong, and the Governors of Kano, Abdullahi Ganduje, Kebbi, Atiku Bagudu, and Jigawa, Abubakar Badaru.
They were greeted at Kaduna’s Dana Airport by Governor Nasir El-Rufai, the state APC governorship candidate, Senator Uba Sani, and other top Kaduna state government officials, according to Channels TV.
After arriving in Kaduna, the former Lagos State governor went to Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, one of the councils ravaged by insurgency and banditry.
He is in the area to express his sympathies to the victims of the attacks and to learn firsthand about the devastation caused by the attacks.
Tinubu is driving the two and a half hours to Birnin Gwari under tight security.
Governor Nasir El-Rufai, Kaduna State APC governorship candidate, Senator Uba Sani, and members of the APC Presidential Campaign Council accompany him.

The Kaduna state government confirmed this development in a Facebook post accompanied by photos.
On Monday, December 12, he wrote,

Kaduna state Governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai stated on Monday, December 12, that he has no plans to retire from the National Assembly when his term expires in 2023.
The Governor stated that he does not have the patience to be a lawmaker while speaking as chairman of the distinguished parliamentarians lecture series of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies in Abuja.
He said,
“I cannot never retire to the legislature because I cannot function there.”
A Peoples Democratic Party chieftain criticized the ruling party’s Muslim/Muslim ticket.
Mukhtar Shagari claimed that the All Progressives Congress failed Nigerians with its Muslim/Muslim ticket strategy.
According to Shagari, the majority of Christians in the country’s north feel betrayed by APC’s decision to fly the same faith ticket.
