President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Paris, France, for a three-day state visit at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron.
Tinubu touched down at Orly Airport at 5:10 PM local time on Wednesday. The visit aims to strengthen political, economic, and cultural ties between Nigeria and France, with a focus on collaboration in areas such as agriculture, security, education, health, youth engagement, innovation, and energy transition.
According to Presidential Spokesman Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu and his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, will be formally received on Thursday at the historic Les Invalides and the Élysée Palace by President Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron. The reception will feature official ceremonies and bilateral discussions.
The visit will also include talks on expanding youth-focused exchange programs in fields such as automation, entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership. Both leaders will engage in political and diplomatic discussions, addressing shared interests in finance, solid minerals, trade, investments, and communication.
Additionally, Tinubu and Macron will attend a session of the France-Nigeria Business Council, which plays a key role in encouraging private sector contributions to economic development.
