President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sanctioned the appointment of retired Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Idris Adamu as the new Chairman of the Military Pensions Board. The appointment is effective from December 1, 2025.
The announcement was conveyed in a statement on Tuesday by Segun Imohiosen, the Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. The administration stated that this leadership change is intended to bolster accountability, transparency, and operational efficiency in handling pensions for the military.
Profile of the New Chairman
Adamu is recognized as a distinguished senior officer of the Nigerian Air Force with a strong background in finance. His career highlights include serving as a Directing Staff at both the Armed Forces Command and Staff College and the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru.
