While there were celebrations on social media after Nigeria’s win over South Africa in the AFCON football tournament semi-finals, concerns about the safety of Nigerians in the host nation have been raised. Timaya urged Nigerians in South Africa to “mind their business” on Twitter, recommending that they stay indoors to avoid any potential violence or conflicts that might arise after the football match.
“If you’re a Nigerian and in SA tonight pls just DEY YOUR DEY!,” Timaya wrote.
