Nigerian music star, Inetimi Alfred Odon, widely known as Timaya, has addressed speculation about his music career status, clarifying that he hasn’t stepped away from the industry for good.
The “Dem Mama” hitmaker stated that his current absence from the music scene is only temporary and not a sign of retirement.
Taking to his X account, Timaya wrote:
“No be say the boy retire, the boy just been dey sleep….”
Timaya kicked off his solo music journey in 2005 with the release of “Dem Mama,” a song inspired by the tragic Odi massacre in his home state of Bayelsa. His first album, True Story, released a year later, cemented his rise to fame.
Over the past two decades, he has dropped eight albums, an EP, and numerous hit singles. His career also includes collaborations with international stars such as Sean Paul and Morgan Heritage.
