At least three people sustained varying degrees of injuries on Sunday after a truck belonging to Lintex International Limited, crushed a Nissan Quest and a Honda Civic car at the Secretariat Bus Stop, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
It was learnt that the auto accident, which occurred about 4.10pm, caused a traffic snarl which lasted for over an hour.
Though no life was lost, the driver of one of the badly damaged cars was said to have suffered severe injuries to his shoulder.
He, along with other passengers in the car, was rushed to a hospital, according to an eyewitness report.
The Lagos Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Hyginus Omeje, said the accident was reported at his office. He, however, said he had yet to receive details of the accident.
Abdulahi Ganiyu, who witnessed the accident, said the truck ran into the Nissan and then later rammed into the Honda car that was negotiating a U-turn on the expressway.
Ganiyu, a vulcaniser who works close to the scene of the accident, said the truck could not stop for the Nissan which was coming from Conoil filling station where it stopped to pick a female student.
At 5:10pm, the police and FRSC officials had taken documentation of the incident, while the vehicles were taken away for investigation.
