Cape Town – Three people were shot dead in two incidents on the Cape Flats, Monday night.
The first incident occurred at about 6.30pm, in Beacon Valley, Mitchells Plain, when two yet to be identified men were shot in a field near Hengelaar Street.
Their bodies were discovered by police, each with multiple gunshot wounds.
“It is alleged that two suspects got out of a vehicle, approached the victims and fired several shots at them, fatally wounding them. Both were declared dead on the scene,” said police spokesman Colonel Tembinkosi Kinana.
“The motive for the murders is still unknown and they are being investigated. No arrests has been made yet.”

Moegamat Hartly, a Beacon Valley resident for 33 years, said shooting, gangsterism, muggings and drug abuse in the area had got “out of control” in recent years.
“That last month or so, the shootings happen just about every day. And every week there are more dead bodies.
“It used to be a nice place to live. Now, we cannot go outside. Hartly said.
“I can’t walk to the taxi rank without fearing for my life. Then, there are the neighbourhood children who play outside, and my wife who needs to go shopping. It is a constant fear for me.”
In the second incident, 36-year-old Eddie Adams was found lying in the street with several gunshot wounds to his body.
