Hundred thousand people are at risk of starving to death next year in northeast Nigeria.
With most of those susceptible being children, the United Nations has announced an emergency appeal, calling for more than $1bn in humanitarian aid to be delivered to areas worst affected.
The UN has described the situation in northeast Nigeria as the biggest crisis facing Africa today..
The region has been battling a Boko Haram insurgency since 2009.
While the Nigerian military has retaken large areas once controlled by the Islamist militants, continued insecurity means farmers are unable to plant crops and aid convoys trying to reach isolated areas face Boko Haram attacks.
The massive food shortages are leading to widespread starvation.

May God help us in tackling hunger and starvation in our dear country.
