The legal representative of Verydarkman, an activist and controversial media personality, has revealed the reasons behind his arrest and disclosed the individuals responsible for his detention. It has been reported that Verydarkman was taken into custody on charges of cyberbullying last Friday. According to the activist’s legal counsel, those who initiated the arrest are the same individuals who filed a petition against him the previous year, namely Tonto Dikeh, Iyabo Ojo, and Samklef. These individuals submitted separate petitions to various law enforcement agencies, all of which led to the summons issued to Verydarkman. Additionally, the lawyer mentioned that the authorities demanded a civil servant to stand as a surety for the activist’s release, although different levels of civil servants have been requested. The lawyer expressed confidence in the police’s professionalism to release his client on bond, but warned of legal action if bail is refused. He reiterated the right to peaceful protest both online and offline while ensuring that due process is followed.
