Wizkid, the renowned Nigerian singer has addressed his recent statement that 2022 will be his final performance in Lagos state.
The singer faced criticism a few weeks ago after declaring that his concert, “Vibes on the beach with Big Wiz,” slated for December 30, would be his final appearance in Lagos.
“Last time I ever perform in Lagos. Let’s rage!!” Wizkid had announced.
His comment, however, provoked outrage, with a huge number of his fans accusing him of “disrespecting” the city that made him famous.
But speaking at a concert in Lagos on Saturday, the ‘Ojuelegba’ crooner said some fans “misquoted” his remark.
The ‘Essence’ singer also declared that his next shows in the state will be free.
“Let me tell you something, When I said this is going to be my last show in Lagos right…What I really meant was, with the kind of love that you guys show me, it is very unfair to do shows around the world
“So, I want to make a promise tonight, this would be the last time you are ever gonna pay to come to Wizkid’s show.”
“Dem dey misquote me everywhere… this is the last time you are ever going to pay for a Wizkid show in Lagos”
