President-elect said he would stick to his anti-immigration and border wall policies in interview with CBS’ 60 Minutes programme which is due to air later today
This will be his first at length since his surprise election victory on Tuesday.
During the presidential campaign he promised voters to take a hard line on immigration and to build a wall, which the Mexicans would pay for, to keep Latino migrants out of the USA.
In his successful bid for the White House he called Mexicans “rapists” and “criminals”.
He said: “What we are going to do is get the people that are criminal and have criminal records, gang members, drug dealers, where a lot of these people, probably two million, it could be even three million, we are getting them out of our country or we are going to incarcerate.”
