The officials, according to The Nation, released unauthorised containers from the port.
According to reports, the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) has detained three of its officials for allegedly releasing seized containers.
The officials were apprehended at the Lagos port a few days ago and are being held at the service’s Central Intelligence Unit (CIU).
The officials, according to The Nation, released unauthorised containers from the port.
According to security sources, the containers were arrested and detained on the instruction of the service’s Controller General, Col. Hameed Ali (Retd), to stop illegal imports into the country.
Remember that the Customs Boss recently announced that over 2,000 service officials had been fired since he took over as leader of the service for various offenses and dereliction of duty.
The container was said to be full of hazardous tomato pastes.
