Olatosho Oshoffa, the pastoral leader of the Celestial Church of Christ International Headquarters in Ketu, expressed disapproval of the invitation extended to Portable and Pasuma for a praise night at one of the church branches. Oshoffa made this announcement on his Facebook page, officially canceling the invitation. The Celestial Church of Christ, Land of Goshen in Lagos, had initially released a flyer promoting the worship night featuring Portable, Pasuma, and May Shua.
The announcement on social media triggered a significant response from Nigerians, with some expressing disappointment and others questioning whether places of worship were turning into venues for entertainment.
In response to the controversies, Oshoffa addressed the issue on his Facebook page, stating,
“Dear Celestians, I have just spoken to the Shepherd in Charge of the above Parish at length. He has promised to make amendments to the posters.
“He has promised that the said contested artists would NOT come for the nights. There is no doubt the said poster is very CONDEMNABLE. God bless CCC. Amen.”
