The Federal Government (FG) has announced Friday, April 21, and Monday, April 24, 2023 as Eid-al-Fitr public holidays.
Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Minister of Interior, made the declaration in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Dr Shuaib Belgore, on behalf of the Federal Government (FG).
While congratulating Muslims on the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan, Aregbesola exhorted people to practice the values of kindness, love, tolerance, peace, self-denial, sacrifice, and good neighborliness.
“The self-restrain, self-denial, sacrifice and deep spiritual consciousness that accompanied the fasting period should not end but be maintained and improved upon, in order to be a better person and true worshipper”, the minister advised Muslims.
The Minister commended all security agencies while assuring the government’s commitment to providing security for the life and property of every citizen in the country.
“Aregbesola wishes all Muslims a happy Eidil-Fitr celebration and prays that the peace, blessings and favour of Allah be with you all,” the statement said.
