Afrobeats sensation David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has advised African-Americans against relocating to Africa in response to Donald Trump’s electoral victory in the United States.
According to the DAILY POST, several prominent individuals, particularly African-Americans, have expressed intentions to leave the U.S. following Trump’s reelection as President.
Speaking on the Big Homies House podcast, Davido urged those considering a move to Africa to reconsider, highlighting the current challenges faced by the continent.
“It’s not all good back home. The economy is in shambles right now,” he stated.
The singer emphasized that his remarks were not meant to discourage or paint Africa in a negative light but to provide a realistic perspective. He reiterated his commitment to promoting the continent through his music.
Davido also noted that while Africa’s entertainment industry has created a positive image, it often serves as a smokescreen that conceals deeper economic issues.
