Canadian rapper Drake finds himself on the losing side once again after betting on Israel Adesanya to beat Dricus du Plessis.
Drake wagered $450,000 on “The Last Stylebender” Israel Adesanya to overcome UFC middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis in the main event. However, the fight didn’t go as planned, with Adesanya losing by choke submission.
Had Adesanya won, Drake was set to pocket $850,000.
This isn’t the first time Drake has lost a bet on Adesanya. During Adesanya’s first UFC fight against Alex Pereira, Drake reportedly staked CA$2,000,000 (around N600 million at the time) on the Nigerian fighter, aiming for a CA$2,900,000 win. However, Adesanya was knocked out just minutes before the end of that match.
Drake did score a win when he placed a $400,000 bet on Adesanya to knock out Pereira in their rematch.
The “Hotline Bling” artist has become known for his streak of bad luck when it comes to sports betting.
