A peaceful farming community in Barki Abdullahi (BAD), Lafia LGA of Nasarawa State, was thrown into fear on Saturday after suspected Fulani herdsmen reportedly attacked residents, leaving one woman with her hand cut off.
The attackers, who remain unidentified, were said to have ambushed farmers on their farmlands, injuring several people.
The woman whose hand was severed was immediately taken to a local clinic for urgent medical care.
A resident named Esla confirmed the incident, calling it “heartbreaking and unprovoked.”
He urged security agencies to respond quickly and track down the perpetrators before the violence spreads.
According to him, the entire community is now living in fear, worried that more attacks could follow.
He also appealed to the government to send security operatives to safeguard lives and property.
As of the time of filing this report, officials have not released any statement on the attack.
