Teni, a well-known musician, whose stage name is Teni Apata, has provided an explanation for why she prostrated to greet Ibrahim Egungbohun Dende, a popular businessman and socialite, on a plane. The video of her greeting IBD Dende on a plane, which she posted on her X account, faced criticism on Friday.
Despite IBD Dende facing allegations of smuggling, Teni received criticism from most social media users for her association with him. However, on Sunday morning, Teni responded by stating that she was unaware of any illegal activity associated with IBD Dende, and that she held him in the highest regard after he showed her kindness in 2014, before she became famous.
Teni also mentioned that she is strongly opposed to illegal activities and criminals.
She wrote:
“MET IBD IN 2014 AND HE WAS SO GOOD TO ME, EVEN BEFORE I BLEW UP, SO WHEN I SEE HIM, ITS ALWAYS LOVE. I HONESTLY HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF ANY CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATED WITH HIM. I DO NOT SUPPORT CRIMINALS, SO LET THE LAW TAKE ITS COURSE”
