A 19-year-old teenager is being held by police in Kenya for allegedly raping a mentally impaired patient in a local hospital.
Laikipia East police boss Joshua Lutukai said the suspect, a casual labourer at the Nanyuki District Hospital, allegedly raped a mentally challenged 14-year-old girl admitted at the hospital.
It is reported that the pervert was spotted doing the act by other patients who ran to inform the hospital management.
“Other patients saw the suspected defiling the patient in Ward 6 and informed the hospital management,’’ said Lutukai.
It is reported that when the pervert saw the security personnel approach him, he jumped out of the window and took off. His shoes were later found in one of the wards.
It was not only discovered later on that the teenager had been raping other mentally ill patients on a daily basis.
“He had been seen severally in the ward at night pretending to be a medic,’’ said the Laikipiapolice boss.
