A court in Plumtree has awarded $30 maintenance to teenage girl who had demanded her virginity back from her 35 year old ex-lover.

The girl ended up being pregnant after several sexual encounters.

David Rwatiringa who is denying responsibility for his ex-girlfriend’s pregnancy requested a paternity test to ascertain whether he is the father of the child.

The court ordered  him to pay a $30 maintenance while it waits for him to prove that the child is not his.

The teenager last week demanded that Rwatiringa returns her v.irginity after he denied paternity.

Plumtree magistrate, Gideon Ruvetsa ordered Rwatiringa to pay a $30 interim maintenance fee until he produced paternity tests on July 1.

“Since you’re saying that you would have raised money for the paternity test after a two month period you’ve up to July 1 to come with the results.

“In the meantime I’m granting the applicant an interim fee of $30 which you’re supposed to pay starting now. If it turns out that the child isn’t yours then the applicant will have to compensate you for the money that you would have paid towards the child,” said Ruvetsa.
