Reality TV personality Anita Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has voiced strong criticism toward Nigerian youths, accusing them of being passive in the face of the country’s pressing challenges.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Tacha expressed disappointment in the younger generation, claiming they lack the courage and commitment shown by previous generations who risked their lives for national change. She argued that today’s youths are more interested in migrating abroad, creating social media content, and chasing personal comfort than engaging in meaningful efforts to improve the country.
Referencing former President Buhari’s involvement in a military coup during his youth, she contrasted it with the current generation’s apparent reluctance to act. Tacha emphasized that many young people today are preoccupied with securing visas, going viral online, and seeking clout rather than participating in national transformation.
While addressing criticism that she hasn’t done enough herself, Tacha stated that she uses her platform to speak out and raise awareness, stressing that her remarks were not directed at any individual but rather at a generation she feels has become complacent and unwilling to make sacrifices for the greater good.
