Reality TV personality and former BBNaija housemate, Anita Natasha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has revealed her interest in venturing into politics.
In a recent interview with Ebuka, Tacha, who hails from Port Harcourt, voiced her frustration over the state of affairs in Rivers State. She expressed disappointment at the government’s failure to tap into the state’s vast potential, particularly in terms of youth talent and economic opportunities.
Drawing comparisons with more developed areas like Abuja and Lagos, Tacha emphasized that Rivers State has all it takes to thrive but remains underutilized. She stated, “When I look at other states like Abuja and Lagos, and I see how far they’ve come, and with the potential Rivers State has, they’re not trying to exploit it. It’s just very disappointing because there are so many youths, so many talents there, so many things that if the government can see light into, a lot can happen.”
She further argued that being actively involved in governance is more impactful than simply criticizing from the sidelines. When asked about her political ambitions, Tacha confirmed that plans are already underway, but she intends to reveal more once the project is about 70% complete. “It is something I’m working on. I’ll have to make it 70% done before I can talk about it, because it does not make sense granting interviews like this, talking about the government without being involved,” she explained.
In addition to her political interests, Tacha also shared her goal of breaking a world record by doing makeup for 150 people within 24 hours.
