Nollywood actress Joke Silva is receiving an overflow of affection and encouragement from colleagues and fans following the death of her elder brother, John Olabiyi Silva.
The veteran actress, who is married to legendary actor Olu Jacobs, revealed the sorrowful news on Instagram, sharing that her brother died at the age of 73.
In her homage, Joke characterized him as “easy-going” and prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul.
“With acceptance of God’s Sovereign will. We announce the call to Glory of my dear brother John Olabiyi Silva, long John Silva. Bros B… Uncle B… My easy-going, lucky brother. Rest in peace. January 22nd, 1953 – August 29th, 2025,” she wrote.
The notice has elicited condolences from fans, Nollywood colleagues, and well-wishers, many of whom overwhelmed her page with words of comfort and prayers for her family.
