Suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, made his first public appearance on Sunday, March 23, 2025, following his suspension and the declaration of a state of emergency in the state by President Bola Tinubu.
Fubara attended a church service at the global headquarters of Salvation Ministries in Port Harcourt, just days after he, his deputy, Professor Ngozi Odu, and members of the Rivers State House of Assembly were suspended during a nationwide broadcast on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.
Arriving at the church around 10 a.m., he was seen in a six-car convoy, accompanied by his Chief of Staff, Rt. Hon. Edison Ehie, and a team of security personnel.
Following the emergency declaration, speculation arose regarding Fubara’s whereabouts and safety, with some unverified reports suggesting he had moved to the Bayelsa State Government House in Yenagoa.
However, his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, refuted the claims, reassuring the public that the governor is safe and in good condition.
“Disregard the rumors circulating on social media. The governor is safe and doing well,” Chukwudi told reporters.
