Four soldiers stationed at Myoung Barracks in the Morocco area of Shomolu, Lagos, are feared dead, while several others sustained injuries after a suspected drunk driver crashed into them.
The tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Friday during the soldiers’ morning physical training, sending shockwaves through the military community.
A soldier who witnessed the event described the scene as horrific, stating, “There’s blood everywhere. I was spared because I was at the back.”
According to the eyewitness, the vehicle carried three young men believed to be internet fraudsters, commonly referred to as Yahoo Boys. The car plowed into the soldiers near the Myoung Barracks Army Sports Camp, leading to chaos.
One of the occupants fled the scene immediately, while the remaining two were captured and severely beaten by onlookers before their vehicle was vandalized.
