The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and other anti-graft organizations have been warned by the Supreme Court not to harass Kogi state government personnel until it renders a judgement on the lawsuit brought by the state’s attorney general.
The suit, which was brought against the attorney-general of the federation (AGF), was brought in an effort to challenge the constitutionality of the laws that created some anti-graft agencies, including the Proceed of Crime Protection and Prevention Act 2022 and their applicability to the state, according to The Cable.
Abdulwahab Muhammed, the attorney for the Kogi state attorney general, claimed at the hearing on Tuesday that state employees are being harassed and detained in many courts despite the fact that a lawsuit was filed in February 2023.
