Nigerian brand influencer Priscilla Ojo has firmly shut down speculations suggesting that her husband, Tanzanian music star Juma Jux, paid for his recent victory at the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA).
The Accusation
The controversy erupted shortly after Juma Jux was named the Best Male Artist in Eastern Africa during the 9th edition of the ceremony, which took place on Sunday, January 11, 2026, in Lagos. While celebrating her husband’s achievement on Snapchat, Priscilla was confronted by a follower who alleged that the accolade was not earned on merit.
After Priscilla posted:
“Congratulations, baby. So proud of you!!”
The critic commented:
“Award wey una buy o.”
The Clapback
Refusing to let the allegation slide, Priscilla fired back, urging the social media user to leave negativity behind in the new year. She even went as far as sharing a screenshot of the troll’s profile to sarcastically mock them.
She replied:
“Bella, it’s a new year, stop hating, girl,”
Adding:
“Too pretty to be hating?”
Recurring Rumors
This is not the first time the couple has faced such scrutiny. The report notes that when Juma Jux previously won at The Headies, critics insinuated that his marriage to Priscilla was a strategic move to gain recognition in the Nigerian music industry. At the time, Priscilla had sarcastically dismissed the claims, calling her husband “smart” and “calculative” while noting:
“the game is the game.”
