Nollywood actor and filmmaker Ajemba Stanley, popularly known as Stanley Ontop, has alleged serious irregularities in the recent Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) presidential election. He claims the process was compromised to ensure the defeat of Rita Daniels.
The election, which took place in Edo State on Saturday, December 6, 2025, saw the incumbent National Secretary, Abubakar Yakubu, defeat actress Rita Daniels (mother of Regina Daniels) for the presidency.
Allegations of External Influence
Writing on his Instagram page, Stanley expressed strong disapproval of the results, suggesting that the integrity of the voting process was undermined by financial inducements and external political forces.
He stated:
“the AGN presidential election outcome is questionable.”
He further elaborated on his suspicions, blaming a “powerful individual” for the upset:
“It appears the process was unfair, particularly with regards to Hon Rita Daniels’ candidacy. The alleged influence of a powerful individual in Abuja is concerning.
“I acknowledge other winners, but the presidential election outcome is questionable. It is regrettable that some delegates prioritised personal gain over association integrity. Regina’s mum would have won Yakubu hands down, but powers in Abuja hijacked it. It’s well!! Shame on una.”
