Controversial singer Speed Darlington has expressed gratitude to popular socialite Cubana Chief Priest for donating ₦2 million to his legal team to aid his release while he was in detention.
Speed Darlington had spent two months behind bars after being accused of slandering fellow artist Burna Boy.
During the dispute, Cubana Chief Priest publicly vowed to support Speed Darlington’s release.
In a recent video, Speed Darlington confirmed that Cubana Chief Priest had indeed sent ₦2 million to his legal team, with two different people verifying the claim.
The singer admitted that he initially thought Cubana Chief Priest was only using his name for publicity but later realized the support was genuine.
“I thought you were just chasing clout with my name, but two people confirmed that you truly came through,” he said.
He went on to appreciate Cubana Chief Priest for standing by him during his time in prison.
