Bamidele Abiodun, the first lady of Ogun State, has debunked rumors that she has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies.
According to Naija News, a revelation in an online publication claimed that the first lady disagreed with Tinubu’s economic ideas.
Abiodun responded to the accusation in a statement signed by Yomi Owope, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor, Office of the First Lady. In it, she referred to the statement as malicious, unfounded, devoid of fact, and the product of individuals out to damage her image.
While stating her support for all federal government programs under President Bola Tinubu, Mrs. Abiodun acknowledged that the President’s initiatives were in the best interests of the country.
“The attention of Her Excellency, the wife of the governor of Ogun State, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, has been drawn to an article by the People’s Gazette purportedly attributing a statement to Her Excellency regarding the economic policies of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR,” the statement reads.
The item in question claimed that Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, the wife of the governor of Ogun State, made comments condemning President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR and indicating that he had upset Nigerians.
“We firmly assert that these malicious claims are completely without foundation, devoid of truth, and the creation of evildoers seeking to harm Her Excellency’s reputation.”
We want to make it very clear that Mrs. Abiodun hasn’t given any interviews or engaged in any other interactions with the media where she’s allegedly voiced the opinions described in the aforementioned story.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR and his family have always enjoyed a polite and dignified relationship with Her Excellency.
The idea that she would criticize the President is not only incorrect but also at odds with her ideals and principles.
It is crucial to stress that the Abiodun family fully supports the President’s policies and believes they are for the country’s best interests.
“The People’s Gazette article is a blatant lie, a regrettable misrepresentation of the truth, and an attempt to sow discord where none exists,” the author said.
