Afenifere Leader Pa Ayo Adebanjo Passes Away at 96

The pan-Yoruba socio-political group Afenifere has once again reacted to the FG’s refusal to rescind the contentious water resource bill. Afenifere claimed that the recent vow made by the minister of water resources, Suleiman Adamu, is evidence that the government is unwilling to yield to the will of the majority. The measure, according to Adamu, will guarantee professionalism and effective management of all surface and groundwater for everyone’s benefit.

According to the group, the action is again another example of how the government consistently disregards the wishes of the vast majority of Nigerians, as The Punch reported.
On October 6, Afenifere released a statement bearing Jare Ajayi’s signature as its national publicity secretary.
The declaration from the pan-Yoruba group is in response to Suleiman Adamu, the minister of water resources, most recent statement. The bill, according to Adamu, will guarantee professionalism and effective management of all surface and groundwater for Nigerians. The minister promised that his department will keep working on the bill since it is the government’s duty to do so.
