The mother of a Nigerian soldier has publicly criticised the government, accusing authorities of neglecting her son and other troops currently fighting insurgents in remote areas.
In an emotional video circulating online, the elderly woman explained that she is the widow of a former soldier who served in the Nigerian Army for 36 years.
She said that throughout her husband’s long military career, he never experienced the level of hardship that her son and other soldiers are now facing while deployed in the bush. According to her, her son often calls to describe the difficult conditions he and his fellow troops endure while on duty.
The woman added that she has advised her son to return home if he feels unable to continue under such circumstances.
Expressing deep frustration and pain, she also called on the Nigerian government to address the suffering soldiers are facing and prayed for divine justice over the situation.
She said:
**“Please leaders of Nigeria.Our children are in the bush. I have told my son if you can no longer continue, come back home. God will feed us. My husband did soldier work for 36 years, they never encountered this thing but small small children are suffering in the hush., You are taking our children to make money. Nigerian leaders, it will never be well with you people. It will never be well with you people. I have told my son, if you cannot continue, come back home. It is not by force. Nigerian leaders and government. Please do something bout our children in the bush. Please, I am an old soldier’s wife. My son joined the Army and he is crying. Please Nigeria, we are begging you people not to leave us. Please don’t leave our children to d!e everyday. They are suffering in the bush!
Oh God of revengeance, revenge for our children. Revenge! I am speaking all of this with heartbreak. God of revengeance, where are you? Please Arise! ‘’**
