A small plane crashed into a commercial building near Fullerton Municipal Airport in California on Thursday, leaving at least two people dead and 18 others injured, according to authorities.
The crash, which occurred in the early afternoon, caused significant damage, tearing a large hole in the building’s roof and sending smoke billowing into the sky.
Details of the Incident
The Fullerton Police Department confirmed the fatalities on social media, stating, “There are two confirmed fatalities.” Among the injured, ten individuals were taken to the hospital, while eight others were treated at the scene.
Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the deceased were passengers on the aircraft or individuals inside the building during the crash.

Witnesses described the scene as chaotic. Jerome Cruz, an employee in the building, told CBS News, “We heard a loud boom, and then we just ran out.”
Aircraft Details and Investigation
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) identified the aircraft as a single-engine Van’s RV-10, a four-seat plane. The cause of the crash is still under investigation by the FAA.
This incident comes just weeks after another aviation accident near the Fullerton airport in November, which resulted in two injuries.
