Nigerian skit creator Broda Shaggi has reportedly been hospitalised after allegedly sustaining a gunshot wound while filming a comedy skit.
The content creator, whose real name is Samuel Perry, was said to have been shot on Sunday afternoon, March 8, around the Sango-Ota bridge in Ogun State.
A police insider who spoke with Punch disclosed that members of his crew quickly transported him to Blooming Care Hospital located in the Alakuko area of Lagos, where he initially received medical attention.
According to the source, doctors at the hospital administered first aid immediately after he arrived.
Following the emergency treatment, he was later transferred to Duchess Hospital situated in the Government Residential Area of Ikeja, where he is currently recovering.
The exact circumstances surrounding the shooting and the identity of the person responsible have not yet been disclosed.
The spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Abimbola Adebisi, also confirmed the incident to the publication, explaining that authorities were notified by the hospital.
She said, “The hospital contacted the police to report that a gunshot victim had been brought to their facility. Detectives and a patrol team were immediately mobilised to the hospital, where they discovered that the victim was a skit maker and social media influencer popularly known as Broda Shaggi.
“He was seen on a stretcher with an injury to his thigh. The location of the incident is in Sango-Ota and not within our jurisdiction, but the investigation is ongoing,” she said.
