Popular British rapper Skepta has opened up about his experience meeting Nigerian singer Portable, describing it as refreshing. The duo previously collaborated on the track Tony Montana, with its music video shot in the UK following Skepta’s invitation to Portable in 2023.
In a recent post on his X account, Skepta shared his thoughts on Portable, highlighting how he stood out in an industry often filled with insincerity. Skepta noted that while he doesn’t personally engage in some of the controversial antics Portable is known for, he deeply respects the energy and authenticity behind them.

“I’ve met so many fake guys in this game, meeting Portable was refreshing #TonyMontana. Whatever Portable does I recognise, dropping daily snippets, jumping gate, walking the street with bank statements. I may not do it myself but I know that energy and I respect it #TonyMontana”
Although some fans tried to caution Skepta about Portable’s unpredictable nature and his history of feuds with former allies, Skepta dismissed the concerns.
In response, he said, “Some of you people’s Tweets are like a broken record. Zzzz”
