Yesterday, at the Igbosere Chiefs Magistrate’s Court, police attorneys from the Force Criminal Investigation Department (ForceCID) Annex Alagbon-Ikoyi Lagos brought forward six defendants: Kehinde Oseni, Adekunle Segun, Adebiyi Sodiq, Oseni S. Akano, Mrs. Agboola Motunrayo, and Mrs. Adebiyi Suliat. They were accused of pirating Toyin Abraham’s movie, Malaika, and attempting to interfere with justice.

According to Morufu Animashaun, the prosecutor, the defendants allegedly orchestrated the piracy in January at Apapa, violating several sections of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015. They faced charges of intellectual property theft, conspiracy, and obstruction of justice.

Despite the accusations, all defendants pleaded not guilty. Animashaun urged the court to detain them in the Correctional Center until the case’s resolution.
