The countdown is on for Christina Aguilera, whose due date for her second child is just around the bend. But she’s ready — thanks, in part, to a baby shower.
New photos of the bash, which took place July 12, surfaced Tuesday and the Lotus singer, 33, is in full bloom — both her belly and her floral crown. Her fiancé, Matthew Rutler, was by her side for the co-ed evening bash, which was held at the home of the singer’s stylist and lasted past midnight.
Aguilera wore a curve-hugging cream dress with a blazer on top and was barefoot for most of the night. She hung out — and snuggled with and kissed Rutler — amid the laid-back décor, including floor pillows, hurricane lanterns, and dangling paper lights.
Party-goers also played that shower game where they guess-estimated how large Aguilera’s baby belly was by cutting pieces of string that would represent the right size. Oh, those wild and crazy baby shower games!
According to E! News, guests noshed on breaded chicken, veggie burgers, sliders, fresh salads, and mini grilled cheese sandwiches. There were cocktails — and mocktails! — served and they had cute little names like “It’s Almost Time” and “Pink Cheek.”
There was also an interesting cake, which featured a woman giving birth on the floor with the baby’s head (with lots of hair!) poking out. In pink lettering on the top it read, “Push, Xtina. Push.
Aguilera, who’s due in August, is thinking pink these days. She and Rutler, whom she met on the set of 2010′s Burlesque, are having a girl. (She has a 6-year-old son, Max, from her first marriage.) In an interview with People magazine in the spring, she called her pregnancy “enjoyable” and “very easy.”
Now, it’s almost over and time for baby
