Nollywood actor Francis Duru has shared a heartfelt tribute to his late son, Ifeanyi, on what would have been his 16th birthday, December 4.
Ifeanyi, the actor’s second son, tragically passed away in August 2024 at the age of 15. Taking to Instagram, Duru expressed the deep pain and loss that his family continues to endure since Ifeanyi’s passing.
In his emotional post, he wrote:
“Today, you would have turned 16, but the cold hands of death took you from us. You were so excited about this day, and we all looked forward to it. But life happened, and you left us too soon. Son, it hasn’t been easy. You left a void that no one can fill. We miss you—your smile, your words of affirmation, and your presence. Since you left, the school bus doesn’t come anymore. Your friends still look at me with questions in their eyes. Your mother weeps every day, while I grieve in silence. Your siblings and grandma hold on to your memory. We couldn’t cut your cake today, but we still celebrate you in our hearts. Happy posthumous birthday, my champ. Rest in peace in the bosom of the Lord.”
Duru concluded by expressing his everlasting love for Ifeanyi, emphasizing the irreplaceable loss and the enduring impact his son had on their lives.
