A mother has allegedly stabbed her 17-year-old son to death because he was gay after the thugs she hired to kill him failed to do so, police said.
The Brazilian mother, Tatiana Lozano Pereira, 32, admitted to killing her son Itaberli Lozano in Cravinhos, Sao Paulo. She had repeatedly rejected the son because he was gay, before she eventually killed him.
After a hot argument during Christmas celebration last year, Itaberli left the house and moved in with his grandmother.
Pereira then pretended to forgive him and, on December 29, urged him to return home. However the woman secretly hired thugs to kill her son after hiding them inside her home under orders to attack him when he entered.
However the hired thugs failed to kill the boy and so she grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed her son to death.
This was revealed by the police officer in charge of the investigation, Helton Tosti Renz.
According to local reports, Pereira and her husband, Alex Pereira, 30, the victim’s stepfather, after the boy was murdered, they took the body to an abandoned area and burned it.
The victim’s paternal grandmother blew the case open after she reported the boy missing.
Police officers became suspicious because Tatiana, the mother, had not reported him missing herself and seemed surprisingly indifferent about his disappearance.
His charred remains were eventually found on January 7, in a nearby field and police also seized two knives from the house.
