The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held a meeting on Thursday to discuss the ill-executed policies of the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration. In a communique issued after the meeting, the PDP NEC expressed concern about the worsening insecurity in the country and requested that President Ahmed Tinubu hold a special National Security Council meeting to address the issue.
In response, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, issued a statement advising the PDP to address its internal issues instead of criticizing the Tinubu administration. Onanuga claimed that the PDP was ignoring the achievements of Tinubu’s administration and that the security situation in the country was improving.
The statement further advised the PDP to focus on resolving its internal crisis instead of accusing President Tinubu of trying to enforce a one-party state, as this claim was unfounded. The statement urged the PDP to work on internal harmony and not to create imaginary scenarios about the President’s plans for the country.
