A motion by a PDP Senator Joshua Lidani (PDP-Gombe) to invite Director General of Department State Services (DSS), Lawal Daura to a Senate hearing was defeated on the floor of the house.
The DSS has been in the news following the arrest of ‘corrupt’ judges and a subsequent allegation of the recovery of N93 million.
Senator Lidani moved the motion to invite Daura to explain why the DSS detained the judges with no respect for constitutional processes. The motion was defeated by voice vote.
The CJN has reportedly bashed President Buhari for their arrest, prompting a report suggesting Rotimi Amaechi and Daura might be fired.
