Ahmad Lawan, President of the Nigerian Senate, has won the senatorial election for Yobe North in Yobe State.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Lawan the winner on Sunday night, announcing that he received 91,318 votes, representing 74.7 percent of the total valid votes (122,193), defeating his closest rival, Bello Ilu of the Peoples Democratic Party, who received 22,849 votes.
