American pop star Selena Gomez has officially become a billionaire, according to Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index.
Gomez has accumulated an estimated $1.3 billion fortune, primarily through her stake in her cosmetics line, Rare Beauty. The brand accounts for over 80% of her net worth, with additional contributions from brand partnerships, acting roles, and mental-health startups.
Gomez first gained fame as a child star on Disney Channel’s *Wizards of Waverly Place*, earning around $3 million for her role as Alex Russo from 2007 to 2012. She later embarked on a successful music career, first with the band Selena Gomez & the Scene and then as a solo artist.
With 424 million followers, Gomez ranks just behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as the most followed person on Instagram. Despite her popularity, music tours have contributed less than 5% to her wealth, with album sales accounting for under 2%. Notably, she hasn’t toured since 2016.
Most of Gomez’s wealth, approximately $1.1 billion, comes from her investment in Rare Beauty.
